August 10th 2010 Well, we are over 250 contacts now that the conditions are getting better.  Todd KH2TJ. his Sons Matthew and Patrick and Gary K0GLT Summited and activated Lassen Peak ( SOTA CN-002) on Saturday! Since then, evenings have proven to be best on 20 Meters. Listen for us as we begin making trips to Portable locations the next few days. We will be on 20 M often from camp in the evenings. More to come!

August 4th 2010- Look for N6IZ Brian, who will be activating SOTA W6/CN-002  Lassen Peak  Friday August 6th. @ 19:00 7.040-cw,14.060-cw,146.54-fm. After his run as N6IZ, he will then run as N6L for the Event. Awesome!
Brian will then move on to Mt. Shasta  for a SOTA on Sunday. See SOTA reflector.http://www.sotawatch.org/alerts.php
And our Base Camp Station should be QRV running CW and SSB after 18:00 on Friday also!
August 1st 2010-     Well all is going well except that unfortunately Ralph N7KGA will not be able to make it this year. We are all contacting each other with final concerns and arrangements and this group is definitely looking forward to working the bands and hearing all of your returns. Weather is looking to be perfect for our stay and Band Conditions will hopefully be favorable, but you know how that goes. The Terrain and Elevation is on our side as far as conditions for operating goes.
We have been asked about Equipment, Radios and Antennas and what we will be using. All of the Operators this year are seasoned Portable Operators and each operator ( Besides Guest Operators) will be using his personal gear and we all favor Buddipole Antennas due to their proven track record for Portable Operation and ease of configuration. Icom, Elekraft, and Yeasu Radios and Heil Boomsets will be used on the Hardware side.
Also a Band Plan has been discussed and we will post any necessary info here and will most likely be assisted by YOU on spotting and other methods, billboards, etc.
So, back to packing, hope to be calling soon! 73 44
